If you are looking at taking part in one of our workshops or are interested in booking for a friend or family member, I've put together these frequently asked questions and information for you.
Where is the workshop held?
All of our workshops take place right in our shop in Byram Arcade. We have an area that we use only for workshops and groups. You can find our address and a map here.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Spun is situated in Huddersfield town centre so there are lots of frequent trains and busses into the centre. We are only a short walk from both the bus station and the train station. There are plenty of car parks if you want to drive in, however it will cost you. Please contact us if you want more information.
Is there disabled access?
Our workshop area can only be accessed by stairs, however if you would like to take part in any workshop at Spun, please email us at email@example.com. We will always try to be flexible and to accommodate your needs if we can, so give us as much notice as possible and we will try to make arrangements.
What do I need to bring to the event?
All materials are provided at most of the workshops we run, however some workshops require you to bring a few things with you or even to do a little bit of homework. This would be clearly stated on the workshop page.
What skill level is this workshop?
We try to cater our workshops for people of all abilities, this means that if you are a beginner or have been knitting or crocheting for some time, we will have a workshop for you. To make it clear, we've tagged them Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced.
Beginner – These workshops will show you the very basics of the craft, meaning that you don't need to know anything before booking on the workshop.
Intermediate – These workshops are for people who have already taken part on a Beginner workshop or have begun learning the craft. If it is knitting, you should already know how to cast on, knit and purl, and do increases and decreases. If its crochet, you should already know how to chain, double and treble crochet, and work increases and decreases. If you are unsure whether you are ready for an intermediate class, get in touch and we will be able to help.
Advanced – These workshops usually concentrate on particular skills within the craft. If you've been knitting or crocheting for a while and feel confident with most things, you will probably be ready for an advanced class. If you are unsure whether you are ready for an advanced workshop, get in touch and we will be able to help.
What about lunch and refreshments?
Tea, coffee and biscuits are included in the workshop fee. Lunch, not included in the workshop fee, can be ordered from Bluerooms (also in the arcade), or you can bring your own.
What is the refund policy?
We offer a full refund on places up to 2 weeks before the workshop. If you find that you can know longer attend but it is no longer within the refund time, we should be able to transfer you to a workshop at another date. Get in touch if you need more information.
